Great Horned Owls Visiting The Nest This Morning

Last modified date

After spending yesterday morning repairing the lightning damage to the Eagle Cam, we were very happy to find that the birds are indeed spending time in the nest. The fact that they are Great Horned Owls instead of our Bald Eagles is a continuing point of debate; Has our eagle lost it’s mate? And is it spending all it’s time courting? Will it be successful in it’s search? And if and when that happens, will they be back to reclaim their nest? Only time will tell, but things could get interesting!

But meanwhile, we may just have an answer to the question “Just how stable are all those sticks up there?”. This is a video that’s actually just a series of stills grabbed this morning. When we get a chance, we’ll post a real video of the owls that were there this morning.
