Skidaway Island Bird Book

Of course, Bald Eagles and Great Horned Owls aren’t the only birds that visit or live full time in our area. In fact, our coastal Georgia environment has been called “one of the great birding destinations of North America.” Here at The Landings on Skidaway Island, near Savannah, 250 species have been recorded, with 175-185 regularly occurring.

So when the eagles are out fishing, or are sleeping, we thought we should show you some of these avian residents. “The Skidaway Island Bird Book” will be a growing collection of the highest quality images of birds taken here on the island. These aren’t just snapshots but are extremely high resolution images captured by some of our island’s best photographers. We hope that you enjoy them.

The “book” consists of a series of web pages, organized in various ways, to present the hundreds of images in a convenient way for the visitor. Its a work in progress, so please bear with us. And please send your comments and suggestions to
