Mom Steps Out – Brings Back Dinner
A few minutes ago (9:27 pm 2/18) Mom stepped out for just two minutes. The older owlet immediately starts scanning for her, and both are very glad to see her return! She doesn’t seem to have prey with her – nothing in her beak. But then we see she’s clutching an excellent clapper rail – food for the whole night! Dad must have brought it for her – she and the chicks will need plenty of calories for tonight’s low low temps and high winds!
where is mama…..she’s been gone too long, the babies need her warmth.
