Next week, in addition to repairing the old camera, we’ll be putting in a second camera. This one will serve as an “approach cam” to give a wider angle view of arrivals and departures.
Tim Sears of HdOnTap had his folks out in Del Mar, CA put together an assembly for us that will speed up our installation process. This camera will have it’s own infrared source for night time viewing, and it’s own microphone and pre-amp. It will be powered from the ground via power-over-ethernet, or PoE, so that if the power supply should fail, we can replace it without disturbing any residents up at the nest.
